Over the years, Injectable treatments have become a trendy solution to improve unwanted facial lines. Our Injectables are FDA-approved prescription products that temporarily improve the appearance of both moderate to severe frown lines between the brows and moderate to severe crow’s feet in adults. Injectables work beneath the surface, where wrinkles result from a combination of many factors. It’s not just about cellular changes, collagen depletion, or damage caused by free radicals. Whatever the cause of your wrinkles and lines, Injectable is very likely the very best non-surgical temporary solution.
Treatment Benefits:
- Smooth wrinkles and fine lines with injection treatments and Juvederm cosmetic injectable fillers.
- Improves and relaxes frown lines that cause one to look older or tired from a lack of sleep.
- Removes laugh lines, neck folds, crows, feet, and forehead wrinkles.
- It helps to prevent an underarm sweat when injected into the skin to treat symptoms of severe underarm sweating.

Juvederm
Juvederm is an injectable hyaluronic acid dermal filler used to correct moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds, such as the lines from the nose to the mouth’s corners (nasolabial folds). It’s not used for lip augmentation.
All Juvederm products are a smooth consistency gel, whereas other hyaluronic gel products may have a granular consistency. Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring sugar found in the body that works by holding in water at the injection site and acting as a cushioning agent. Juvederm adds temporary volume and a smoother appearance to the skin, and most patients need only one treatment to achieve optimum results.
Some Juvederm XC products contain the local anesthetic lidocaine to make the injection more comfortable. Juvederm Ultra XC and Juvederm Ultra Plus XC both contain 0.3% preservative-free lidocaine to numb the treatment area within seconds. Juvederm Ultra Plus products contain more highly cross-linked formulations for the correction of deeper folds and wrinkles.
Precautions
You shouldn’t use Juvederm injectable gel if you have severe allergies marked by a history of anaphylaxis or a history or presence of severe multiple allergies or allergies to gram-positive bacterial proteins.
Juvederm Ultra XC and Juvederm Ultra Plus XC should not be used if a patient has a history of allergies to lidocaine.
Juvederm injectable gel should not be injected into blood vessels. Treatment should be postponed if there is an active inflammatory infection at specific injection sites until the infection has been controlled.
Only professionals under the supervision of a licensed health care practitioner should administer Juvederm. Inform your physician if you are using substances such as aspirin, ibuprofen, or naproxen, which may prolong bleeding or bruising.
The specialist should be cautious for a patient on immunosuppressive therapy because of the possibility of an increased risk of infection.
What to Expect During Treatment
Juvederm is injected directly into the skin with a fine needle. Some Juvederm products contain the local anesthetic lidocaine to help lessen discomfort during the injection, or the physician may choose to numb the site before injection. You may experience some discomfort after the injection, as well. Your doctor will discuss your pain management options with you before the procedure.
What to Expect After the Procedure
Avoid the following within the first 24 hours:
- Strenuous exercise
- Extended exposure to sun or heat
- Drinking alcohol
Any of these could lead to temporary redness, swelling and/or itching at the injection site. If swelling occurs, place an ice pack over the area. Also, ask your doctor how long you should wait before you can re-apply makeup after the procedure.
Side Effects
Most Juvederm side effects resolve themselves in 7 days or less and are mild in nature. Common side effects include the following injection site reactions:
- Redness
- Pain/tenderness
- Firmness
- Swelling
- Lumps or bumps
- Bruising
- Itching
- Discoloration
- Risk of infection
If continued redness or visible swelling lasts for more than a few days, contact your physician. If laser treatment, chemical peeling, or any other dermal procedure is performed after treatment with Juvederm, inflammation may occur.
How Long Does a Juvederm Treatment Last?
Treatment with Juvederm is temporary. Between nine months to a year after the initial injection, re-injections may be needed. Smaller injections, usually about half the amount, are used for repeat injections.
Post Injectables Instructions
Do NOT manipulate the treated area for 3 hours following treatment. Do NOT receive facial/laser treatments or microdermabrasion after injectables for at least 10 days. Ask your provider if you are not sure about the time frame of certain services.
Some providers believe that smiling and frowning right after Injectable treatments helps the Injectable find its way to the muscle into which it was injected after treatment.
Do NOT lie down for 4 hours after your Injectable treatment. This will prevent the injectable from tracking into the orbit of your eye and causing a drooping eyelid.
It can take approximately 4-7 days for results to be seen. If the desired result is not seen after 2 weeks of your treatment, you may need additional injectables. You are charged for the amount of product used. Therefore, you will be charged for a product used during any touch-up or subsequent appointments. We aim to reduce the amount of product to a minimum and add if need be rather than overdoing.
Do NOT perform activities involving straining, heavy lifting, or vigorous exercise for 6 hours after treatment. This will keep the product in the injected area and not elsewhere.
