Derma Filler Esthelis
Whatever your motivation is, whether you’d like to be more attractive or simply want to care for your appearance, you may be considering a wrinkle filling treatment, an increase in lip volume or to improve the outline of your face. Here are some important things you should know about derma injections.
Making Wrinkles Disappear
The treatment of wrinkles, increasing the volume of lips or cheeks and work on the outlines of the face do not necessarily require surgery. Injectable treatments can more or less fill deep wrinkles or increase the volume of lips, cheeks or chin very effectively. However, it’s important to make a good choice of the product to be injected.
Product Qualities Important
Safety – The injectable filler you choose must be safe, guaranteeing a natural origin in order to avoid a risk of allergy or side effects. A product must have been tested and recommended by your doctor.
Effectiveness – You must be able to see the results of your injection immediately and the results must last so that sessions don’t have to be repeated for several months.
Comfort – It depends on the texture and nature of the fillers currently on the market, whether the injection will be more or less painful or require “corrections” through firm pressure or closely-spaced sessions.
Esthelis Filler
Esthelis Soft and Esthelis Basic are the two dermal fillers in the hyaluronic acid based range of cosmetic treatments. Esthelis was approved by the Food and Drug administration in 2011 to treat fine lines and wrinkles, while assisting in skin rehydration.
Esthelis provides a smoother transition between the treated and non-treated areas by integrating into the tissue surrounding it in the dermal layer of skin. By using a smaller amount of the product, it can also be used in the most superficial dermal layers. Esthelis contains glycerol, which increases skin elasticity and rehydrates to improve skin tone. The glycerol also coats and protects the hyaluronic acid from free radicals, enzymes and thermal degradation in the body.
What Makes Esthelis Filler Different
Esthelis is made from non-animal hyaluronic acid. Being the first monophasic (single phase) hyaluronic acid filler using a patented Cohesive Polydensified Matrix (CPM) technology sets it apart from the conventional monophasic hyaluronic acid dermal fillers.
CPM is a patented technology that double cross-links monophasic hyaluronic acid strands with Butanediol Diglycidyl Ether (BDDE) which is the stabilizer.
Features of Esthelis
The two kinds of Esthelis are Esthelis Basic, and Esthelis Soft. Esthelis blends into the tissue surrounding it in the dermal layer of the skin and affords a smoother transition between the treated and non-treated areas. The precision of the injection, along with the bio integration of the product, are the two elements of successful dermal filling to correct facial wrinkles.
Esthelis Soft is injected into the superficial to middle dermis to treat the following areas:
- Fine wrinkles
- Wrinkles around the lips and mouth
- Lip commissures (corners of the mouth)
- Crow’s feet
- Forehead wrinkles
- Facial scars or depressions
Esthelis Basic is injected into the middle to deep dermis and is used for:
- Augmenting Lips
- Facial contouring/outlining
- Glabellar lines (the short vertical lines found between the eyebrows)
- Nasolabial furrows (the two skin folds that run from each side of the nose to the corners of the mouth)
- Facial depressions or scars
The Injection Procedure
Because successful dermal filler treatment relies on the precision of the injection, the injection system is fully automated. The fine gauge needle allows for more even product placement, varied angles and depths of placement, as well as better control over the speed and amount of the injections. This reduces pain and may also reduce the occurrence of side effects.
Your doctor will discuss your medical history and any medications you are taking with you, as well as what you expect from the treatment. If you have a history of severe allergic reactions, are taking anti-coagulant drugs, are on immunosuppressive treatments or are pregnant or breastfeeding, you should discuss alternative treatments with your doctor.
During the procedure, the face is cleansed and the sites for injection are marked. The process usually takes less than an hour and there is typically little if any down time. There is no allergy pre-test required because Esthelis is made of hyaluronic acid, which is naturally present in the human body.
Side Effects
For 24-48 hours after the injections, you may experience common side effects such as redness, swelling, itching, discomfort and discolouration. These symptoms may last for a week if you received lip injections.
It’s recommended that you avoid over-exposure to the sun, ultraviolet rays and massaging the injected area immediately following the injections.
