Extensions Give Your Lashes Length and Volume

Unlike false eyelashes, which are temporary, eyelash extensions are professionally applied with a semi-permanent glue meant to hold them in place for several weeks. Extensions give your lashes the length and volume that nature didn’t and at a length suited to your face. Multiple coats of mascara and a lash curler just can’t achieve what lash extensions can.

Whether you’ve just woken up, exercised for an hour or gone for a swim, you’ll be delighted by the way your eyes pop and by how quickly you can get ready because, once applied, eyelash extensions need no daily maintenance.

About Lash Extensions

Lash extensions are available in a wide variety of lengths, diameters and curls. There are also different materials used, including synthetic silk and mink. Synthetic lashes tend to look glossier and more dramatic than softer, lighter mink eyelashes.

At TCSC, eyelash extensions are done by adding the thinnest silk or mink extensions to your own natural lashes. We attach 3 strands of these very thin extensions to one of your natural lashes, which gives you the fullest possible look without appearing fake. If you usually get 50 LPE (lashes per eye) you will now have 150 LPE.

The health and thickness of your natural lashes, as well as the shape of your face and eyes, will be used to determine the right set of extensions for you. Your technician will also discuss your expectations and personal tastes with you and help you to decide if you are interested in a subtler look or want something more dramatic.

If you’re a first-time client, it’s advisable to follow your lash growth pattern and just make them darker. That will make them look natural, like you’re wearing mascara. You can always up the drama later, if you want to.

The Procedure

Your first visit to the clinic will be the longest. Lash extensions take at least 90 minutes to do and possibly as long as two hours. Your technician will be affixing each lash extension with tweezers.

To begin, you’ll lie down on your back and get comfortable. Your bottom lashes will be shielded with under-eye pads, stickers or tape. Your eyes must remain closed for the entire session.

  • Arrive at the clinic with your eyes entirely clean of makeup
  • Be prepared to keep your eyes closed for the entire procedure
  • Plug into your playlist on your phone or a book on your e-reader and relax

How to Care for Your Lash Extensions

eyelash extensions procedure

After your appointment, you must avoid getting your extensions wet for 24 hours so that the glue has a chance to dry completely. Humid environments, such as a sauna, should be avoided, as well.

To maintain your extensions, keep them clean and gently detangle them with a clean mascara brush every day. You can wear eye makeup, but oils and oil-based makeup remover will break down the adhesive. Skip the mascara, you really don’t need it. The less you do to your lash extensions, the longer they’ll last.

Schedule touch-ups every two to four weeks to keep your lash extensions looking full and fresh. These touch-up appointments generally take about an hour.

Call TCSC for a consultation today and get the long, full eyelashes you’ve always wanted.
